On the 25th of February 2022, the BAC Education Group held a Town Hall meeting for its staff through the Work Different webinar series. This town hall meeting was conducted by the Managing Director of BAC Education Group, Mr. Raja Singham, with the purpose of updating employees on current workplace policies, benefits and memorandums as well as introducing new plans to grow the group. The Town Hall meeting also aimed to update employees on the current Covid-19 SOPs in place and the status of the college in this area.
The meeting started off with an explanation on the statutory benefits received by employees, such as EPF, SOCSO, Insurance and several types of leave. Mr. Raja Singham specified the details on each of these benefits, reminding the employees not to withdraw too much from their EPF fund, as it is meant for one’s retirement.
Next, Mr. Raja Singham moved on to the current benefits provided under BAC. He went into detail on each of these benefits, explaining how both students and employees are granted access to learning platforms such as LinkedIn Learning and Coursera. He encouraged staff to learn new things via these platforms, whether related to their work or not.
Mr. Raja Singham also addressed that employees have access to the MonsterFit gym and are encouraged to join the classes there. In addition, MonsterFit is expanding and will soon have more programs available for free for BAC students and staff. Mr. Raja Singham is also planning to implement a bonding session among employees.
There were also new benefits introduced for employees, such as dental, birthday leave and an employee appreciation reward scheme. Other than that, employees have been granted an extra 3 days of annual leave to participate in BAC’s community service projects.
After that, the Covid-19 measures were addressed. Mr. Raja Singham aimed to alleviate employees’ concerns regarding the spread of the Omicron variant, and as such he presented statistics regarding the number of cases from mild to severe. He also noted that self test kits would be placed on each floor for employees to test themselves should they feel unwell.
Mr. Raja Singham also took the time to introduce new employees and announce transfers and promotions to different departments. He emphasised that some departments are fairly new and need lots of help from the rest of the staff to be able to work well.
Afterwards, he presented the summary of the impact of movements run by BAC Education Group. He noted that though the numbers are small, the impact is huge, and he encouraged more employees to get involved in these movements.
The meeting ended there, as Mr. Raja Singham gave his contact details to the employees for them to talk to him personally if they are facing any issue. The meeting was beneficial for staff in terms of understanding the vision of the upper management and also bonding.
